The Certified Istio Administrator exam by Tetrate (CIAT) certifies that the users have the skills, knowledge, and competency to perform Istio service mesh installation and configuration as well as configure traffic management, resilience, and fault injection, and to use security features of the Istio service mesh.

CIAT has been developed by Tetrate, the leading company in application networking created by Istio founders. The exam is an online, proctored, performance-based test that consists of a set of tasks (problems) to be solved in a command-line interface and a set of multiple-choice questions.
